Working Mom Loves of the Month – March
There are things that make life just a little better – a little cozier, a little brighter, a little more enjoyable. Those are the things I want to talk about today! Will this list change your life? Probably not. But will it make the life you have a bit happier? Absolutely!
Here’s what I love this month!

All-Inclusive Birthday Parties
We did a really cool gem mining birthday party for our 7 year old this year. My girls are both really into “gems” and rocks, so we knew this would be a winner. So many places these days are extremely organized, keep the kids engaged and take care of all of the setup and cleaning! All we had to do was bring the cake. The party was the most relaxing two hours of the weekend.
Publix Cakes
Speaking of birthday cakes, we bought our cake from Publix yet again and were very happy. They make the best cakes! We’ve been loyal customers ever since they made a custom giraffe cupcake cake for my younger daughter a few years ago. Not everyone has Publix, but if you have one nearby do not miss their bakery.
EcoVessel Summit Stainless Steel Water Bottle
I’m a little…picky…about water bottles. I strongly prefer the way water tastes from a stainless steel bottle over a plastic bottle. An insulated water bottle is a must for me since I can’t stand a sweaty water bottle and I really like cold water. My old EcoVessel Summit was a little dented, and my kids had bitten the rubber mouthpiece and destroyed. Rather than trying to rehabilitate the old one I just bought a new one. Hooray! Cold water for days. I actually get dehydrated without my trusty water bottle.
Lined Paper for Homework
I’m probably the dumbest mom ever, but it never occurred to me to get lined paper for my daughter’s homework. She was trying to draw lines on a plain piece of white paper when suddenly it hit me: I can buy lined paper on Amazon! I felt like an idiot, but also happy that this was an easily-solved problem.
Bob Books
Speaking of homework, we’re working on reading with both kids and we love Bob books. These books come in a variety of different levels, and it’s super easy to step up to the next level once your child has mastered their current level. We now have three sets and our girls really enjoy reading them.
Eddie Bauer Downlight Jacket
My old Eddie Bauer Downlight suffered a catastrophic failure that involved down spewing everywhere. Not good! I finally broke down and bought a new one and I am so happy. The latest version is longer than my old style and also more low-profile. I also got a hood this time and am happy I did. I will be warm and toasty next time it gets cold! Now spring is probably coming.
Skagen Watch with Leather Band
I love Skagen’s low-profile watches. The designs are so sleek and the watches are reasonably priced. I used to buy the metal mesh bands, but I was having trouble with the links breaking. They would stick out and scratch me. Not what I’m going for! So I switched to a Skagen watch with a leather band and I love it! The watch itself is still the same sleek, low-profile design and now I don’t have to worry about my watch attacking me.
Redesigned Engagement Ring
Speaking of non-threatening jewelry, I recently had my engagement ring re-set by a local jeweler. I can’t believe how much I love it! When we first bought the ring, the two side stones were in half-bezel settings and the center stone was in a prong setting. That setting made the stone super sparkly, but the prongs were constantly scratching my babies (and car doors). I took it to the jeweler, expecting it to be a major change, but they switched the prong to a semi-bezel for less than $200 in a week. My ring is now smooth and won’t scratch anyone, and I love it.

Is there something awesome making your life better this month? Tell me about it so I can check it out!
I also did an all-inclusive birthday party and Publix cake this month! Even better was ordering the cake through their app.
Oh, like a BOSS! I didn’t even think of the app. Doing that for the next kid party for sure.
PS. Looking forward to checking out your podcast!
