Transform your Notebook Into a Fitness and Food Tracker
Are you determined to maintain a healthy lifestyle? It can be incredibly beneficial to keep a food journal or an exercise log as you take this journey! By keeping track of your health habits you can be more mindful of your choices, spot problems and assess your progress. And your Rocketbook can help!
This post originally appeared as a paid post on the Rocketbook Blog. The Rocketbook Everlast is a reusable smart notebook. You can upload your handwritten notes to Evernote, Google Drive, OneNote and other cloud applications using the Rocketbook app. When you’ve filled up the notebook, just use water to erase your notes. I’ve shared how I use my Rocketbook to keep life running smoothly.
HOW TO KEEP A FOOD JOURNAL
If you’re trying to eat better in the new year, you’ll experience many benefits from keeping a food journal! A food log will help you spot those small indulgences that add up. Eat a piece of candy here and drink a soda there and you’ll be consuming major calories without realizing it. With a food log, you can identify those small but high-calorie treats and find a better alternative.
A food log will also help you spot problem patterns. If you notice that you’re always mindlessly snacking at nighttime, you might want to think of a healthier way to burn off the stress of the day.
Food logs are also useful for identifying food intolerances. If you’re feeling bloated or sick to your stomach after eating certain foods, like gluten or dairy, that might be a sign to try eliminating those foods from your diet.
USE YOUR ROCKETBOOK AS A MEAL TRACKER
Rocketbook is the perfect place to keep a food log! The executive size is especially handy for carrying in your purse or work bag. You’ll have it with you whenever you need it.
Make a page for a daily food log, with spots for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and alcohol/desserts:
Designate a symbol in your Rocketbook app for a Food Log folder in your cloud storage location of choice. At the end of each day, upload the log and wipe the slate clean. Over time, you’ll build up an electronic log of your eating.
If you need some extra accountability, consider sharing your food log with a friend. Embarking on a food log with a friend, or having someone who checks in on your progress every once in a while, can assist in making much healthier choices.
HOW TO MAKE AN EXERCISE LOG
Keeping an exercise log can help you achieve your fitness resolutions. You’ll keep yourself honest – the log knows if you decided to hit the gym or watch Netflix. And when your goal is something big, like losing 25 pounds or running a marathon, it can be inspiring to watch your exercise progress over time even when your big goal still seems far away.
An exercise tracker also takes some of the decision-making out of working out. You’ll have a solid plan for your weekly movement, and then it will just be a matter of making it happen. The fewer decisions you make, the more likely you are to stick with it!
And over time, you’ll notice patterns and challenges. Maybe you do great with morning workouts, but struggle with evening exercise. An exercise log will give you data-driven insight into your own problems and preferences!
USE YOUR ROCKETBOOK TO TRACK WORKOUTS
It can be tough to keep track of your weekly exercise minutes, which is where an exercise log comes in! Like a food journal, an exercise log can be a fantastic tool for building new habits around movement. Structure your exercise log to match your movement goals and personal preferences. If you’re more word-focused, you might do something like this:
If you like numbers, you might find it rewarding to track like this:
